Winter Lanterns
Winter Lanterns
Drop in to explore tracing paper, cool colors, winter skylines, and abstract geometric patterns and walk away with your own winter lantern.
We are a learning and cultural center of the community. We offer hundreds of free programs each year for all ages. Everyone can attend, you don’t need to have a library card. We host authors and historians, storytimes and craft activities, arts and musical events, and much more. We are especially proud of PoemCity, our annual celebration of National Poetry Month, and our StoryWalk® program, which has spread the joy of reading across the world!
The Library contains a small permanent art and sculpture collection, and hosts regular monthly exhibits by local artists in the Kitzmiller Fiction room and the Children’s Library.
PoemCity is our annual celebration of National Poetry Month each April. PoemCity displays poems by Vermonters in storefront windows in downtown Montpelier and organizes a community calendar of poetry events for the month.
Combine reading and the great outdoors with StoryWalk®! StoryWalk promotes early literacy, physical activity, and time together in nature. It’s a fun and educational family activity that you can bring to your community!
