Get a Library Card

A Kellogg-Hubbard Library card opens up a world of discovery. Everyone is welcome to visit the library, go to library programs and use our computers, wifi & printing. However you do need a Library Card to borrow materials and to use digital services.

We offer free library cards if you live or pay property taxes or teach or attend school in one of our supporting towns (Berlin, Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex, Montpelier or Worcester). We also offer paid memberships for everyone else who wishes to join!

How old do you have to be to get a library card?

Adult cards are available for ages 16 and over. Youth cards are available for kindergarten age through 15.

You can get a free Library Card if you:

  • Live or pay property taxes in one of our supporting towns (Berlin, Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex, Montpelier or Worcester)
  • Teach or go to a public school in one of our member towns, including CVAE (Central Vermont Adult Education) and CCV (community college of Vermont – Montpelier).

If you do not meet one of the qualifications above, you MUST apply for a paid membership.
