How old do you have to be to get a library card?
Adult cards are available for ages 12 and over. Youth cards are available for kindergarten age through 11.
You can get a free Library Card if you:
- Live or pay property taxes in one of our supporting towns (Berlin, Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex, Montpelier or Worcester)
- Teach or go to a public school in one of our member towns, including CVAE (Central Vermont Adult Education) and CCV (Community College of Vermont – Montpelier).
If you do not meet one of the qualifications above, you MUST apply for a paid membership.
Paid memberships:
Paid memberships are valid for one year.
Adult or family membership: $55
Senior membership (ages 65+): $50
Please allow 72 hours for your online application to be processed before visiting the Library to pick up your card.
