PoemCity is the Kellogg-Hubbard Library’s annual celebration of National Poetry Month each April. Started in 2010, PoemCity displays poems by Vermonters in storefront windows in downtown Montpelier and organizes a community calendar of poetry events for the month.
PoemCity 2026 Now Accepting Submissions!
We invite Vermont poets of all ages and experience levels to submit a poem to be featured in this community-wide celebration of poetry throughout downtown Montpelier during National Poetry Month in April. Selected poems will be displayed in local businesses and public spaces. To participate, please submit your poem using the form linked below by February 8th.
Please be sure to read and follow all poem submission requirements carefully. Due to the high volume of submissions (nearly 500 poems last year!), we are not able to accommodate many requests or re-submissions. Poets under the age of 18 must also have a parent or guardian complete a permission form in order for their poem to be displayed downtown.
