Discovering Self-Identity Through Culture and Conversation
March 3 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Free
As part of our Just Like a Book, More Than My Cover series this March, join us for a unique and enriching library event that explores self-identity through diverse cultural lenses and thought-provoking dialogue. This session, led by Vermont-based artist Ferene Paris, invites participants to reflect on the contrast between outward appearances and inner truths.
Over Caribbean-inspired drinks and snacks, you’ll be invited to explore how the world perceives us versus how we truly perceive ourselves. This sensory experience serves as the backdrop for a deep conversation about the power of embracing our authentic selves. Through shared stories and reflections, we will examine how societal expectations shape our identities and how reclaiming our personal narratives can be both freeing and transformative.
As the human author of your own story, how are you living out loud? This is your chance to reflect, connect, and be empowered. Ferene Paris, founder of All Heart Inspirations, will lead a live storytelling performance designed to spark connection and affirmations, encouraging participants to engage with and embrace their most authentic selves.
Whether you’re looking for personal insights, new perspectives, or a sense of community, this session will provide space for meaningful conversations, self-reflection, and creative inspiration. Don’t miss out on this chance to explore the depth of your own identity while celebrating culture and creativity.
RSVP preferred, but not necessary. We’d like to get a headcount so we make sure we have enough food!
Rain Date: Tuesday 3/4, 6-7 pm.
