Giving Rights to the Voice of Nature
April 7 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us for an engaging lecture and poetry workshop exploring the evolution of language and the loss of words tied to the natural world. Through discussion and creative expression, we’ll examine how these shifts impact our relationship with nature and connect to the Rights of Nature movement—a global effort, deeply rooted in Indigenous perspectives, to recognize legal rights and personhood for Earth’s species. Drawing inspiration from writers like Robin Wall Kimmerer, Robert Macfarlane, and other nature poets, participants will reflect on language, loss, and the power of poetry to reclaim our connection to the living world. Please bring a pen and paper.
