We are so grateful to voters in all six towns we serve for supporting us at Town Meeting Day. Thanks to your votes, our funding requests passed easily in all six towns.
Did you know that Kellogg-Hubbard is one of the busiest libraries in Vermont? We circulate almost 200,000 physical and digital items a year, and last year we hosted almost 13,000 people at Library programs. We serve hundreds of visitors every day. With all the services we offer, based on estimates derived from the Massachusetts Library Association, KHL provides more than $3.3 million in value to our communities each year!
Because KHL is an independent nonprofit, we rely less on tax support than the average Vermont library. Municipal funds make up 55% of our annual budget compared to 74% of the average Vermont library budget. 77% of our budget supports wages and benefits for our incredible librarians and staff. Our funding requests to our member towns this year are in line with current inflation rates and reflect our commitment to spending your dollars wisely.
We are grateful to you for continuing to value the Library and our work to provide free and equal access to information and other resources.
