Sweet Spring Flowers

Barb Saxe

On display in the Kitzmiller Fiction Room the month of March

Flowers in pastel hues.
This body of artwork includes watercolor florals and landscapes. Barb observes the world around her, looking for patterns and interpreting my surroundings to create designs for paintings, watercolors, and textiles.

Barb started creating art at a very young age. It seemed to be her favorite pastime, since she was 6 years old. She is an accomplished watercolor artist and freelance textile/surface designer. Her roots are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.F.A. from  Moore College of Art in Textile Design and Art Education. Her career took off in Montreal, Canada, where  she taught and designed for large textile companies and created one-of-a-kind fabric for clients; projects for home furnishings included hand-painted dining room chairs, sofas, curtains, and chairs.  Currently, she creates watercolors for paintings and textile designs to adapt and modify in Photoshop or on her iPad for Textile designs as a freelance designer.
