Tell us about your background: I moved to Vermont in May of 2024 after receiving a job offer from a local company, and instantly fell in love with the community of Montpelier. Prior to living in Vermont, I spent two years abroad in Japan teaching English as part of the JET Programme. I grew up all over the United States and went to college in New York City at NYU. I have a background in office administration and the performing arts.

What motivated you to become a KHL Trustee? I was motivated to become a KHL trustee due to my love of the library here. The library is one of the first places I visited when I moved to Montpelier and has continued to keep me connected to our community. Additionally, I co-lead the group Write Now! that meets on Saturdays. Being in a leadership position for Write Now! made me want to explore further leadership positions in our community.

What are some of your hobbies and interests? I am a writer in my free time, so I spend a lot of time on my work as well as letter writing. I greatly enjoy using my 1938 Corona Standard typewriter for all sorts of communication!

What are you reading right now? Right now, I am reading several books: War & Peace, the King James Bible, and anything by P.D. James who is my current favorite author.

What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned about the library since becoming a trustee? The most surprising thing I have learned about the library is that when the library was originally built, the 2nd floor fiction room was constructed to be a dance hall for community dances!
