As the air begins to cool and the days grow shorter, a vibrant celebration lights up the hearts of millions around the world—Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This year, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable Diwali Celebration at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library on Saturday, November 2, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. This event promises to be a dazzling showcase of Indian culture, filled with joy, community, and rich traditions.

What is Diwali?

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most significant festivals in India, celebrated by millions across the globe. It symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Traditionally, families decorate their homes with oil lamps (diyas), light fireworks, and exchange sweets and gifts. Each day of the five-day festival holds its own significance, culminating in the main celebration, where prayers and festivities center around Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
