Library After Dark: A Spooktacular Night of Thrills and Chills!

Join Us for Library After Dark!

Get ready for a spooky evening filled with spine-tingling fun at Kellogg Hubbard Library on Saturday, October 26th from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM! This isn’t your typical library event—it’s a night of eerie excitement perfect for older kids and up!

What to Expect:

  • Haunted House & Jump Scares: Dare to venture through our spooky haunted house, where gory and unexpected thrills await at every turn. Our very own librarians will be on hand to deliver some frightful surprises—watch out for those jump scares!
  • Talk by William Alexander: What Happens When You Lose Your Shadow? Shadows can be lost or stolen. Sometimes they escape and take on a life of their own. This happens in folklore, fairy tales, and works of fantastical literature from Peter Pan to A Wizard of Earthsea; it has happened several times to Link in The Legend of Zelda. Join National Book Award-winning author William Alexander to learn how to keep your shadow—and how to write your own shadowy stories.
  • Tarot and Oracle Card Readings: Curious about what the future holds? Get a glimpse into your destiny with tarot and oracle card readings offered throughout the evening. Whether you’re a seasoned believer or a curious skeptic, this experience promises to be both fun and revealing!

Costumes Are Encouraged! Come dressed in your favorite spooky attire!

Don’t miss this chance to experience the library like never before. Gather your friends and prepare for a night filled with thrills, chills, and plenty of fun. Everyone is welcome, but remember, this event is geared towards older kids and adults.

Mark your calendars, and let the haunting begin!
