On Wednesday, June 19, the Library will be closed for the Juneteenth holiday – but we still have opportunities to celebrate and learn!

The Children’s Library has a drop-in craft all week (June 17-22), where kids can make their own windsock commemorating Juneteenth.

Also June 17-22, we will have a collection of Juneteenth and Black History books on display in the Fireplace room.

Finally, although the Library itself will be closed June 19, we will have a free program from 6-8PM in the Hayes Room:

Let’s Talk Race: Building Bridges Through Conversation

This thought-provoking, growth-oriented community conversation will be facilitated by unique conversation cards written by Vermonters, for Vermonters. This free event is presented in partnership with the Vermont Human Rights Commission, Central Vermont Showing Up for Racial Justice, and the Racial Justice Group of the Unitarian Church in Montpelier.
