PoemCity Anthology 2024 is a collection of poems featured in PoemCity, the Kellogg-Hubbard Library’s annual celebration of National Poetry Month during the month of April. These poems by Vermonters of all ages—from three to ninety-four!—were part of the walkable display showcased in the windows of businesses in downtown Montpelier, Vermont. This celebration of poetry and community includes published poets, former poet laureates, K-12 students, as well as new poets just starting to put pen to paper, and hail from seventy-five Vermont cities and towns.
The Anthology’s cover is a digital illustration by college student Fiona Perez Razzaque (Rah-Zaak) entitled “Slow Wade,” inspired by the poem “Afternoon at Sea” submitted to PoemCity, for the first time, by her mother Deidra Razzaque (Rah-Zaak), from Brattleboro.
All proceeds from the sale of this book benefit the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and support future PoemCity programming. The Anthology is available for purchase now at the library for a sliding fee starting at $10, and will be available for the list price of $20 at Bear Pond Books and at Rootstock’s website starting April 26th.
Thank you so much to our partners at Rootstock Publishing who generously publish this anthology.
