Each month, we are thrilled to host artwork from local artists here at the library. In the month of April, we are honored to host Poetry from the Poetry Society of Vermont, Selected Works from Arthur Schaller, and the Kids Create Art Show!

Poetry from the Poetry Society of Vermont is on display in the Kitzmiller Fiction Room. The Poetry Society of Vermont, founded in 1947, is an association of poets and friends of poetry who join in promoting enthusiasm for poetry through workshops, readings, contests, and contributions to The Mountain Troubadour, the PSOV literary journal. More information about the Poetry Society of Vermont can be found at https://poetrysocietyofvermont.org/. View the full listing of PoemCity programs and events at www.kellogghubbard.org/poemcity

The Kids Create Art Show is on display in the Children’s Library through May. View creative artwork made by kids at the art tables in the Children’s Library!

Selected Works by Arthur Schaller are on display at our T.W. Wood Satellite Exhibit in the main staircase through May. The TW Wood Gallery is pleased to present Arthur Schaller Selected Works. This exhibition consists of a compilation of collages, paintings, and mixed media work. Born 1945 in East Chicago, Schaller grew up with the contrast of gritty steel mills and oil refineries and the natural beauty of the dune lands of Lake Michigan. After studying architecture and art and working for architectural firms, Schaller embarked on a fifty-year teaching career. Before moving to Vermont, he spent summers teaching at Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren. A bricoleur at heart, he has recently returned to painting and mixed media works. He lives in Northfield, Vermont.
