SUMMARY:Montpelier Senior Activity Center Poetry Reading
DESCRIPTION:Students in the two poetry writing workshops at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center will read a selection of the poems they have written during the past year. There will be a reception hosted by the students immediately after the reading. The event will highlight the creativity of Montpelier’s senior community. The event will be free of charge and open to the public and all ages. Last year the event was filmed by Orca Media and the organizers intend to reach out to Orca again if this application is approved. SUMMARY:Poetry about Coping With Grief
DESCRIPTION:Seven poets from several different towns in Central Vermont–who have been meeting together and discussing and writing poems about loss and grief for the past two years–will give a poetry reading of some of the poems about that topic that they have written in that time. The group published a book last year titled “Talking to Grief\,” which includes many of their poems. Copies of that book will be available as part of their April 17th reading. The poets will read their poems to the public on Friday evening\, 4/17/26\, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier\, at 130 Main Street\, across from the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
